Do you have a cat? Yes, I have a cat!

This past weekend I went to training for ilp. It was a two-day workshop down in Provo, Ut. There were around 80 people there for the training, although only 11 of us are going to Hefei, ChinaWe are going to have a bLaSt!
While learning the teaching method, I almost had a pSycOtiC breakdown =) I have a feeling it is going to take me awhile to get used to the "teaching life". We did a couple of exercises to practice teaching a foreign language and I kept on resorting to "caveman" talk. "String. This is a string. Say string. Yes, string. String." When in reality we must speak in full sentences for our kids to actually learn anything. I will definitely struggle, but I know that I will get the hang of it once I'm out there.
Because the training was 9 hours a day we took much needed breaks. Tammi and I found the arcade! We won a whole bunch of tickets, but there was no counter to claim a prize... that's BYU for ya. I still don't know the exact date of my departure, but it's coming up fast!!!

Accepted

Well, it is official! I have received my letter of assignment. I will be going to Hefei, China. I will mainly be teaching Elementary level classes, ages 8-10!!! The school I will be at is Guanghua and it is only 20 minutes away from downtown Hefei.

I am really exCiteD to go and embark on this new journey. I am also tErriFieD. I have never been out of the country before and I dont know how to speak cH!neSe. I'm not sure how to pack either... i will be there for five months and im sure i will want to take everything I own, but thats not reality. I am only allowed 2 suitcases that weigh 50 lbs each, one suitcase for personal belongings and the other for teaching supplies.

I will update as much as possible. Love you!
